When you see a water spot on a wall or ceiling, it’s instinctive to think that the leak is right there. In some cases, it is, but—sometimes—that can be deceiving.
For example, in a two-story house, a leak from the upstairs shower might travel down the exterior wall, making contact with the drywall at a much lower point.
Ceilings are even trickier. Is the leak coming from a pipe, or from a problem with your roof? You’ll want professional help finding and dealing with the leak.
